Sixth sense! The future tech...!

Hey friends. I was just goggling around the web today when I found this amazing video talking about one of my favorite upcoming technology.
Yes guys, I am talking about the SIXTH SENSE being presented by Pattie Maes and here let me not forget to mention the name of the genius mind behind this project - Pranav Mistry (NRI) at MIT Lab, USA.

So before I tell you more on this, why don't you first watch this video...

So, let me tell you what sixth sense is all about. Imagine if we could take our
digital world and paint the physical world with that digital information…

Wouldn't it be great, if we could just pick up information like some small
piece of paper and move it from one device to another....? Well sounds pretty
  fascinating to me...

'SixthSense' is a wearable gestural interface that augments the physical world around us with digital
information and lets us use natural hand gestures to interact with that information.Sixth Sense
allows people to use the internet without a screen or a keyboard. It can turn any surface into a
touch screen.
The team estimates that the basic price for the sixth sense device could be as little as $350, even
though it's so high-tech that a person could wear it as jewelry. It is:
Portable.
Inexpensive.
“Cool”.
Multi-sensory.
Connectedness between the world and information.
New thing is getting people to “play” with the technology.
No pressure.

And here is the best part I like about it:

It gets rid of the digital divide, the gap between these two worlds.
More connected to our physical world.
And not to forget that Software will available open-source soon. Yeppiee...! Isn't that Cool...!
So what do you think, isn't it great. Looked like watching a science fiction movie with a slight difference that their is nothing fictitious about it...
So what do you think about it...?

  6. I'm not so sure about this, I prefer to be detached from technology as much as possible, I don't think I'd like to have it around me all the time. Reminds me of the show reboot, good show.

  7. This could be useful, though I wonder about how it will be carried out and the technical means met. It would certainly be cool.

  10. Fantastic. And it seems to be an affordable technology too. I mean, for something this innovative, it certainly doesn't seem too expensive.
